Terms of Use

Effective August 21, 2026

Run by a student, not a company, and not drafted by a lawyer. Written to be honest about what this site does and does not do.

1. What this service is

006 Pixel is a noticeboard. Members post items and services; other members contact them. That is the entire service.

The site is not a party to any transaction. It does not take payment, hold funds in escrow, verify that anyone can pay, ship anything, inspect most items, or guarantee that a deal will happen or that anything is as described. Money and goods move directly between the two people involved, on terms they agree between themselves.

2. Who may use it

  • You must be at least 13 years old, and at least 18 to view any board marked 18+.
  • One person, one account. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • Creating a new account to get around a ban is itself a breach of these terms.

3. What you may not post

These limits are absolute. They are not moderation preferences and are not negotiable:

  • Controlled substances and drug paraphernalia
  • Violence for hire, weapons, or threats against people
  • Fraud — taking payment without delivering, or taking goods without paying
  • Biological agents, pathogens, or hazardous materials
  • Sexual content involving minors, or any content involving a minor in a sexual context
  • Content depicting a real person without their consent

You must also not post anything you have no right to sell, impersonate anyone, scrape or automate the site, or attempt to break into it. Attempts to post prohibited content are recorded, and the most serious categories are escalated.

4. Your content

What you post stays yours. By posting it you allow the site to store and display it to other members for as long as your listing or account is up — nothing more. It is not licensed onward, sold, or used to promote anything.

5. Deals and Pay Post

Pay Post records that both people say a deal has been agreed, and counts one unit against a listing. It is a bookkeeping mark on this site — it is not a payment, and it neither transfers money nor creates any obligation this site can enforce. Whether a deal binds you is a matter between you and the other person.

Ratings must describe something that actually happened. Ratings left to punish someone for an unrelated reason will be removed.

6. Moderation

Any listing may be removed and any account suspended, with or without notice, where the rules have been broken or where a moderator reasonably believes someone is being defrauded or endangered. Every moderator action is logged. To dispute one, use the report form.

7. Closing your account

You may request deletion at any time from your account page. Requests are reviewed rather than automatic, so that someone cannot take payment and erase their complaint record on the way out. Ratings you left for other people survive with your name removed, because those records belong to them as much as to you. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is erased.

8. No warranty

The site is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. It is a student project on one server. It may be slow, may lose data, and may go away. Do not rely on it as the only copy of anything.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for anything arising out of a transaction between members — including items that are not as described, payments that are never made, goods that are never handed over, or anything that happens when you meet someone. The site introduces people; it does not vouch for them.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in California, and both sides consent to that. Nothing here takes away a right you have as a California consumer, or your ability to use small claims court.

11. Changes

These terms may change. Material changes will be posted on the site before they take effect and the date above will be updated. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
